The Auburn fans are going to love this.
— It’s the first time Auburn has ever won a national championship, and it’s a great moment for Auburn’s season.
But, like the way the fans are treated at SEC Media Days, there’s a sense of camaraderie among the Auburn faithful.
And for the first two games of the regular season, a lot of the fans were very quiet.
It’s a moment for the fans to feel like they belong.
They feel like their Auburn pride is not just going up in flames in the fall.
“It’s definitely a big win for us,” Auburn quarterback Jameis Winston said.
“That’s the goal, to win a national title.
You want to win.
We’re not there yet, but it’s good to be back in the playoffs. “
We have a lot more work to do.
We’re not there yet, but it’s good to be back in the playoffs.
We know we have a chance to get to the next level, and we’re ready to go.”
For the first week of the season, it was like a lot was happening for the Auburn team, a fact that wasn’t lost on the Auburn fans.
The fans were just waiting for the team to win their first title in a decade.
That feeling has carried over to the team’s playoff push, which the Auburn defense is trying to stop.
“I’m excited, and I’m looking forward to it,” Winston said after the victory over Georgia.
“But we’re not done yet.”
AUBURONTS FIRST-TIME WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WIN The first-time world champion Auburn Tigers defeated Georgia, 24-21, on Saturday.
They now have the most titles in the SEC with six.
They also have the best record in the conference with a 4-1 mark.
Auburn is now tied for second with Florida State with nine conference wins.
The Tigers were the first team to beat Georgia since 1995.
The Bulldogs were the last team to defeat Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament, when the Tigers defeated the Seminoles in the Sweet 16.
Auburn beat Georgia in the 2013 NCAA Tournament for the second straight year.
Georgia beat Auburn in Atlanta in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
Auburn is undefeated in the regular-season series.
The last time Auburn defeated a top-10 team in the NCAA Tournament was in 2008, when Auburn beat LSU.
In the past 10 seasons, Auburn has won three of its last four SEC championships.
Auburn was the first SEC team to reach that mark in the 2015 NCAA Tournament, losing in the Final Four to Alabama.
SEC Media Day was held Saturday in New York.
The game was televised on ABC and ESPN.
AUSTIN, Texas — AUBUNTU’S first SEC Championship Game win came after the Tigers won the SEC West title with a 27-17 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday afternoon.
It was Auburn’s first SEC title since 2003, when it beat Georgia 29-14.
This is the first championship game Auburn has played in more than a decade, as the Tigers have not won a title since 2006.
The loss was a big blow for the program.
“The biggest thing right now is just getting ready for the game,” Auburn offensive tackle Jordan Phillips said.
“[But] it’s also just getting to work on our season.
We need to keep working on our offense, our defense and our special teams, and just try to do our best to win the game.
We didn’t play great today.”
It wasn’t a good night for junior receiver Corey Davis.
He caught five passes for 77 yards.
Davis, who had five catches for 61 yards in the previous SEC Championship game, was a major part of Auburn’s run defense.
He played the entire second half with a broken collarbone.
The defense was also good, with the Tigers holding Georgia to a field goal and a touchdown.
But the Tigers were also good on special teams.
A senior wide receiver, Tyree Lewis, had a touchdown in the third quarter to help lead the Bulldogs to a 24-20 lead.
“This was a really good win for our team,” Georgia defensive end Jarrad Davis said.
He finished with six tackles, one sack, one pass breakup and a forced fumble.
It marked the Bulldogs first win against Auburn since 1999.
Georgia is one of four teams Auburn is expected to face in the College Football Playoff, along with Alabama, Texas and Mississippi State.
It is the only SEC team Auburn has not beaten since the 2015 season.
Georgia has won four of the past five games.
Auburn, meanwhile, is 4-2 all-time against the Bulldogs.
“If we’re going to be the best team in America, we have to play the best teams in the country,” Georgia coach Kirby Smart said.
Georgia’s season is tied for fourth in the nation, tied for ninth in the ACC and tied for 13th in the
